Setting the agenda for Farm Shops
At RMS, we have a “get it right first-time” approach for EPOS. We help startup and scale-up retailers put the right retail hardware and software in place because we fundamentally believe that great EPOS can improve business efficiency and oversight while cutting staff training costs and improving customer experience.
That is why we’re attending the Farm Business Innovation Show 2018. Come find us at stand 3081. We’re looking to help people who want to monetise their land through farm shops or other forms of retail or hospitality.
We’re absolutely thrilled to be showing at the Farm Business Innovation show. We believe farm shops are a great way to diversify the monetisation of your land – especially if you are proud of your produce!
Farmers have been encouraged to diversify and have often had to do so in order to survive. A farm shop is an ideal way to expand the business and grants are often available to help start one up. Food scares in recent years (for example BSE and worries about GM food) have made many people far more aware of the quality and safety of the food they eat. This has led to an increasing demand for fresh ‘wholesome’ food and particularly organic produce.
Uncertainty prevails in the general outlook for both farmers and retailers. This means it is more pressing than ever for retailers to put the right solutions in place when starting a venture. Every efficiency gain becomes more essential. A great EPOS can:
- Improve the inventory management of your business
- Allow better business decisions with data oversight
- Improve customer satisfaction with better customer experience
- Boost your loyalty programmes implementation and uptake
- Save time and money
There are particular EPOS considerations for farm shops: including weighing scales and sticker printing integration. We’ve written a more comprehensive guide on the retail considerations for Farm Shops here.
At the show, we’ll be displaying our premier EPOS software OpSuite – which is ideal for farm shops – in tandem with cutting-edge AURES hardware. Additionally, for startup retailers and hospitality businesses with less complex needs, we’ll be displaying our affordable and complete RMS Register bundle. We think these products represent the perfect mix for the Farm Business Innovation audience. RMS Managing Director Jim Lenaghan and the team will be on hand to discuss EPOS, give advice and demo our product range.
Many new retailers are enticed by off-the-shelf solutions that aren’t fit for purpose. We encourage everyone considering a retail startup to speak to a retail systems expert before they invest in EPOS.
